In the spirit of Ruby's & Rails' blossoming community of open-source developers, these meetings are free to attend & open to all.

There are different levels & types of people involved, but of course the more prevalent & outspoken tend to be the more confident & experienced developers (though this is less true for the Rails group).

There are two different groups...

Austin.rb (aka ARCTAN)

Group focus:

• Ruby language
• discuss programming, projects & ideas; some team work is emerging

Informal group meets almost every Thursday @ 11:20am for lunch at various Austin eateries as discussed on the email list; usually four to twelve people; we sometimes linger past 1pm.

Austin on Rails

Group focus:

• Ruby on Rails web framework
• presentations + lively open discussion

Monthly meeting Downtown @ Frog Design; our inaugural meeting had over twenty people in attendance and lasted a couple hours.
